Having worked in retail for the past 14 years, I have had experience in a variety
of roles for Topshop and Topman predominantly in the creative and visual merchandising
side of the business. Pushing myself to take on new roles and work my way up the
company,
I have relocated twice and I am currently working in head office as part of the Global
Creative Team. Retail has seen many changes throughout this time and through strong
resilience combined with a willingness to develop myself personally, I have always been
able to adapt well. I always jump at the opportunity to learn new skills and take on
more
responsibility. I have completed a number of courses whilst in my role, from Illustrator
to Cinema 4D.
Outside of work, the drive to develop my skill base has seen me take on a
number of sideline projects over the last few years. Working on word of
mouth between colleagues and friends, I have completed a variety of projects that
have pushed me to learn new abilities in design, web and print.
Teaching myself web design and coding has been a labour of love for the past year.
Using an online course through Udemy, I have completed the front end part of the
course and can confidently build a page from scratch using HTML, CSS and jQuery.
I am currently working through the backend part of the course.
During my Photography course, I worked mainly with analogue learning the fundamentals of
photography and
how to develop and print films.
Since college I have naturally developed my film based skills into the world of digital,
post production
and editing. Although currently I am just using my photography as a hobby, I have had
experince in the past
working on weddings and portrait shoots. I have also worked with video, shooting and
editing
a number of shorts,
including videos for Topshop internal commuincations.
